Mountboards

We have a very comprehensive range of mountboards in different colours, grades, materials, thicknesses and sheet sizes for you to choose from. Our boards are supplied by Crescent and their grading system of Good, Better, and Best explains the different products very well:

Good - Standard Quality

Acid-free buffered core and facing papers;

Suitable for low-value prints, posters, photography, certificates, etc;

Large range of facing paper colours with white or black cores, jumbo size available.

Better - Conservation Quality

100% alpha-cellulose buffered board, lignin-free (lignin chemically removed);

Guaranteed not to damage the artwork for at least 30 years;

Suitable for limited edition prints, photography, and valuable documents;

Good range of facing paper colours with soft white cores.

Best - Museum Quality

100% cotton buffered board, naturally lignin free;

Guaranteed to never damage the artwork;

Suitable for originals, valuable prints, and rare/antique/historically important documents;

Good range of natural colours, solid colour throughout, double-thick and jumbo available;

Eco-friendly - made from waste cotton using less chemicals than wood pulp boards.

Mountboard Options for Alison’s Prints

Since we began using Crescent mountboard at Christmas 2010, we only use the 100% cotton “Best” grade mentioned above (off-white colour) for all Alison’s originals and reproduction prints. You will see on the prices two options:

Double mounted (2 x single thickness boards)

55mm mount width

Deep Mounted

Double mounted (inner mount double thickness board)

80mm mount width
